Mark Paine of Centralia made a late push in the ninth annual BRS Museum Home Run Contest. Not only did that result in a final month win in the contest, but Paine, of Centralia, also ended up in fourth place overall.
Paine's 15 players combined for 105 points from September 1 through the end of the MLB regular season. One of only three players to reach the 100-point mark in the final month, Paine will receive $33.75 for his victory.
Rounding out the top five were Justin Goodwin (second for a second consecutive month with 104 points); Larry Porschen (102); Bob Smith (97) and Derek Cornell (96).
