Despite September being his lowest scoring month of the season, Kris Detmers still managed to win the ninth annual BRS Museum Home Run Contest.
Detmers' team of 15 major leaguers tallied only 87 points from September 1 through the end of the MLB regular season. But his 660 points gave Detmers a comfortable 8-point win over Justin Goodwin and a winner's check of $168.75. For Goodwin's second-place showing, he nets $101.25. Ben Schwab finished third with 651 points, just one behind Goodwin, while also collecting $101.25.
Finishing fourth overall and collecting $67.50 for that, is final month winner Mark Paine. He had 649 total points. Taking fifth overall and a $33.75 prize was Ron Crenshaw with 641 points.
Rounding out the top 10 for the year were Ruth Herpstreith (640); Roger Kratochvil (632); and Jim Leefers, Jim Keller and Rick Cearlock (each with 625).
