Pat Perry

Patís career in the majors was with the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Pat was born Feb. 4, 1959, in Taylorville. He graduated from Taylorville High School. In his junior and senior years of high school, they did not have a baseball program. He began his career at Lincoln Land Community College and was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 1978 amateur draft.

His Major League career began in September 1985, with St. Louis. He pitched and hit left handed. He stayed with the Cardinals through 1987, when he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds near the end of the season. He landed with the Chicago Cubs, and in May 1988, Pat hit a home run in his first at-bat with the Cubs. In 1989, Pat suffered an arm injury. At the end of the season he was released by the Cubs, and then he signed with the L.A. Dodgers, for what was to be his final season in 1990.
