|Leefers wins second half contest|
Jim Leefers of Coffeen was able to sort through the more than 50 players and come up with the winning 10-player combination in the inaugural BRS After the All-Star Break Home Run Contest.
The 10 major league players that Leefers selected hit 116 home runs collectively after the All-Star break, enough to give him the title and the $62.50 first prize.
Coming in second place was Bob Vernetti, whose players had 114 points. Vernetti claimed $37.50 while Doug Scott took third and its $25 prize.
Thanks to all who tried this initial event, which started in conjunction with the Hometown Teams exhibit this summer.
