Good turnout for Schalk book signing

A crowd of about 40-50 people gathered at the BRS Museum to welcome Ray Schalk biographer Brian Cooper to Nokomis on Saturday, October 10.

Cooper was at the museum to sign copies of his new book, "Ray Schalk: A Baseball Biography".

Cooper is the executive editor and editorial board chairman of the Telegraph Herald newspaper in Dubuque, Iowa. He penned a biography of Schalk’s Chicago White Sox teammate Red Faber that was released in 2006. During work on that project, Cooper decided to pursue a biography about Schalk.

The museum's board of directors thanks everyone for attending the event. Signed copies of the book are available at the museum at a cost of $30.
